Philippe Ombredanne is the CTO and co-founder of nexB, a company dedicated to making open source software easier and safer to reuse. He is the lead maintainer of the AboutCode suite of open source tools for software composition analysis (SCA), including ScanCode, DejaCode, and VulnerableCode. He is the creator of Package-URL (PURL) and a co-founder of the SPDX and ClearlyDefined initiatives.

A passionate FOSS advocate, Philippe has spent over two decades building open source tools and open data to automate license compliance and software supply chain security. nexB, founded in 2003, is a bootstrapped company whose open source code, specifications, and data are widely used by leading SCA companies and startups worldwide.
