Justin Cormack

Justin Cormack served as Chief Technology Officer at Docker for nearly ten years, joining in 2015 as a senior security engineer and rising to CTO in 2021. During his tenure, he was a maintainer of Docker's open-source projects and a long-time contributor to foundational container technologies including Moby, containerd, runc, and LinuxKit. He is a former member of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) Technical Oversight Committee.
Justin holds an MA in Economics from the University of Cambridge and an MS in Computer Science from Imperial College London. His first open-source contribution was to the Linux kernel. He was awarded a Blue Plaque at the State of Open Conference 2025 in recognition of his contributions to the open-source ecosystem.
